Save the Date!!! November STLRUG Learning Event!

Please save the date and plan on joining us for the STLRUG November Learning Event!!
The event will be on Wednesday, November 12th, from 6-8 PM, at The Hawkin House in Webster Groves. 
The topic is going to be a panel discussion on "If, How and Why do General Contractors use Design Models for their workflows..."  We are going to discuss the particulars on how and why General Contractors and Subcontractors use models provided by design disciplines and what are some of the best practices and hang-ups with this data transfer.

2014 AGC St. Louis Regional BIM Conference

The AGC of St. Louis is presenting the third annual St. Louis Regional BIM Conference on Thursday and Friday, August 7th and 8th.  The event is held at Washington University in Lopata Hall.

This is a two day conference that includes BIM related speakers, break out learning sessions/labs and lots of networking.  The keynote speaker for this year is Joseph Joseph of Disney Imagineering.

The St. Louis Revit Users Group will also be there and presenting two learning sessions at the conference this year. The "BIM Team Sandbox" panel discussion will be about best Revit workflow practices for a multi-discipline Revit BIM Team. The "Family Values" lab will walk you through some advanced family creation techniques and workflows to make efficient flexible Revit families.
Members of the STLRUG will also be available for the open Lab time to answer your Revit questions or help solve any Revit problems you may have.

2014 Central States BIM Workshop

Hey St. Louis Revit Users,
I wanted to share some information about a great low-cost Revit training workshop being held in Omaha, NE on August 21 -22.  This workshop (formerly known as the Central States Revit Workshop) is a great, high quality event that is fairly local and much less expensive than an AU or RTC type conference.  I encourage any one who has the ability to attend this conference, you will not be disappointed.  High quality speakers, great class content, and incredible networking event.

There will also be a STLRUG presence at this event, as I will actually be presenting a class.

STLRUG - June Happy Hour Event

Plan on joining us for an overview of the Revit Family Editor, including best practices and examples of advanced families.  We will cover some of the Revit Family Editor basics like Reference Lines and Planes (and when to use each), MEP Connectors, and all of the different types of parameters.  Then we will showcase some more advanced families to demonstrate the potential of how the family editor can be used.

Central States BIM Workshops - Call for Proposals

The Central States BIM Workshops (f.k.a Central States Revit Workshop) is requesting calls for proposals for presentations at this year's conference. The conference is being held on August 21st and 22nd, 2014 at the Scott Conference Center in Omaha, Nebraska. This conference is a great (and affordable) way to achieve some good AU quality training and knowledge from some of the country's top BIM guru's!

STLRUG Jan/Feb 2014 - Happy Hour Event - February 11th, 2014

Save the date and plan on joining us!!!
The January/February St. Louis Revit Users Group Happy Hour Event has been scheduled for Tuesday, February 11th from 5:30 until whenever at the Roadhouse 61 bar and grill in Webster Groves.  They have allowed us to use the upstairs portion of the bar until 7 PM and Open Mic night starts at 7:30 PM, so bring your instruments!!!  (Maybe we can start the STLRUG Band that night!!!)
